It’s so important to keep your knowledge fresh and up to date. Technology advances quickly and if you can’t keep up, you may be replaced. Being versatile will mean you have a whole world of opportunities in front of you at all times. Boosting your career doesn’t necessarily mean climbing up the same ladder all the time. It could just mean a complete change in what you’re doing for a better quality of life. You have to know how to market yourself, no matter what career path you choose.
Sure, it’s easier to sit at your desk and get on with your work instead of trying to make connections with all of your colleagues. But, when it comes to promotion time, your colleagues are likely to triumph over you just because they’re more willing to talk to people. It’s important to have connections, and you won’t know how valuable they are until the day you need them. The more people you connect with, the more people know what you’re capable of and what your goals are for the future.
Boosting your career doesn’t have to be difficult, as long as you have a passion for what you do and you’re willing to work at it.
