In today's business world and cancel culture, reputation is everything,  But, you may be unsure of how to help your business reputation in the marketplace.  Make sure to have the best ideas that improve your business success.  And, in this article we have four key ideas that you need to work on when you are looking to improve your business reputation.

Branding Focus

Branding is the process of making a business known to the public and differentiating it from competitors.  Make sure your branding matches your company.  You can even change your branding as a business in order to present the best possible image and gain reputational credibility. Branding is one of the things you need to sort out before you launch your business.  There are a lot of ways in which you can improve your branding such as:
  • Identify and understand your target audience
  • Research your competitors
  • Identify your value proposition and unique selling proposition (USP)
  • Define your niche
It is vital to make sure you come up with some of the leading ideas that will enhance your branding. 

Identify Your Core Values

As a business, it is important to have core values and principles that you live by every day. Values matter to your customers and investors. Consider Tom's shoes that gives away a pair of shoes with each purchase. That philanthropic value is now part of that company's reputation and brand identity that customers associate with Tom's. Identifying your core values will help you improve your brand reputation, connect with customers, and focus on being able to take things to the next level.

Show Off Your Achievements
One of the best ways to boost your reputation is to showcase examples of your achievements. By backing up claims of what you can do with evidence of past achievements, you can win over the trust of customers. A few ways in which you can show off your achievements include:

  • Certificates and online award badges: You could consider displaying certificates around your premises or displaying award badges on your website. 
  • Positive reviews: Highlight any positive online reviews you have attained over the years.

  • Case studies: Consider publishing case studies on previous projects you have worked on. These could be in written form with photographs or video format with time lapse footage or client interviews.

Diversify Your Company

Having a diverse workforce means happier and healthier employees, customers feel more respected and managers have greater access to the talent and skillsets they need for their organizations to thrive. A study from Harvard Business Review found that diverse companies had a 19% higher innovation revenue. One way you can add more diversity to the company is working with The Identitype Group. Develop Great Customer Service

So, how does a company make itself stand out? According to Forbes, it is by providing the secret ingredient that many businesses lack: great customer service. Customer service refers to the support and assistance given before, during and after the purchase of a product or service. It means serving the needs of your customers and helping to solve their problems. According to American Express, U.S. consumers say they’re willing to spend 17% more to do business with companies that deliver excellent service, but more than half of Americans have scrapped a planned purchase or transaction because of bad service and 33% say they’ll consider switching companies after a single instance of poor service. 

So how can you improve your customer service? Invest in training of your customer service personnel.  Stress the importance of listening to the customer every time there is an interaction. Coach customer service personnel on how to ask good questions so that they can give good answers.  Lastly, invest in multi-channel customer support like text, phone, and email options to interact with your customers.
