As a native Houstonian, I proudly promote all things HTX but now I am finally breaking down all the reasons I love this town! Houston has been quietly (or not so quietly, if you ask this native) growing into a thriving metropolis at a rate faster than most other cities in the country. While the Lone Star State of Texas may paint a picture of oil derricks, cowboys, open roads, desert landscapes and longhorn cattle, Houston is an oasis far removed from the rest of the state’s imagery.
Fresh off a World Series victory (and maybe a Rockets Championship - fingers crossed!) and with a booming job market, Houston is looking more and more appealing by the day. The dream is to have a career that is fulfilling, challenging, and that pays well. But great jobs just don’t fall into a person’s lap. When you’re dedicated to your career, there’s a chance that you could be on the road travelling to different meetings, or even to pitch to potential clients. That means a lot of your time is going to be spent in your car, so we’ve compiled a list of things that all career "driven" people should keep in their car so that the long journeys are that little bit more bearable and can keep you at the top of your game!
The office life isn’t for everyone. The early morning rush, the hot, stuffy environment, and the inevitable office politics all make working in a big business irritating and annoying. If you want an alternative, you can consider working from home. Many people want to run their own career and escape the rat race. You might be wondering about the type of careers that you can pursue without heading to the office each morning. Well, there are a four great possibilities to consider here.
