Even in uncertain financial times, investing in your career is still a decision that is worth taking. After all, taking steps to make yourself more employable means that you will always be in demand. HR can be a little overlooked as a career, however it’s an integral part of any company which can provide a wealth of opportunities for candidates. As an in-house attorney, I have had the privilege of working extensively with human resources department in various companies. This department is responsible for everything to do with the staff side of a business, covering everything from training and recruitment, benefits, payroll and redundancy and more. It’s also responsible for implementing employment law, and so it's extremely important and something that no business can do without. I have known many people that have started as lawyers and then transferred into HR. It is a role that you may not have started in but you can learn HR. Working in the human resources department of a company can be surprisingly rewarding, and so if you’re planning on taking this route with your career, here are a few things to consider.

To create and deliver an excellent presentation takes time and preparation. It’s a given that you will have to spend time researching the subject of your presentation, and we can trust that you know best what is needed there. But a presentation goes far beyond having the right content. You could have groundbreaking facts and figures with an award-winning plan to improve the company, but if you don't present it well, then no one is going to take it seriously. So here are our tips to a boss presentation.
 Are you ready to take that next step and change your career? So many people are unhappy with their jobs that it’s almost become the norm. Perhaps you’re in the same boat. You believe that work isn’t supposed to be enjoyable because… well, it’s work. But there’s a difference between something being a challenge and something simply being unsatisfying. Your career should inspire and motivate you to push yourself. How else are you going to progress up the ladder and get those promotions?
Even when your job role is mentally or physically taxing, it should be rewarding in some sense. You should care about the industry in which you’re based, at the very least. The subject matter should inspire you. And if you’re not getting that from your current career then this might be a sign that it’s time for you to change to a career that does satisfy your intellectual and personal needs.
