I don't know about you but I love the holiday party season! It has to be one of my favorite excuses to get dolled up and go out with friends. But work parties are inevitably a little trickier than the typical night out with the friends. Your uber mini skirt may not be the best pick for your work event but you still want to look fabulous, so what's a girl to do?
In this holiday season, the trend is more is more. More velvet, more sequins, more feathers, more fur, more embroidery, more, more, more! So in short you can wear a faux fur stole over a sequin dress or velvet wrap with feather trimmed skirt. We break down a few of the trends here.
Velvet is huge this year so if you have some velvet from years back - pull it out! Sequins are also showing up everywhere. If you not comfortable wearing a full on sequin dress what about a sequin clutch or shoes to bring this trend into your look? Metallics are heating up the runways too. I love metallic shoes because they go with EVERYTHING and are a great addition to any holiday look. Embroidery is also a hot trend that can really bring the wow factor to your look. Embroidery is being found in all over prints - whether on boots or jackets or dresses. I love embroidery because it usually allows any bags or shoes you already have in collection to match one part of the embroidery so you can keep your spending to a minim. Finally, you cannot go wrong with fur accents this year. Fur is now found in some really fun hues and is such a transitional piece because you can wear it with your party dress or your classic denim. And the men in your lives do not need to be left out of the festivities. They too can get in on the velvet trend - think in a dinner jacket or shoe. What about a feather bowtie and cummerbund like my hubs is wearing in these pics? And, embroidery can also be a fun accent for men to add to their holiday looks. We have scoured the 2017 party looks and picked these looks that will be perfect for your holiday work festivities. They will be sure to dazzle everyone and will give you some great pieces to wear into the new year!
