How Anyone Can Make Glasses Look Good

Anyone else not get their contacts before quarantine happened? Or, are you a new glasses wearer wanting to make sure that you rock them? Perhaps you’re getting a non prescription pair purely to up your fashion game - or maybe you just need a good pair of sunnies for the warmer days but you’ve never been able to find a pair you like. Whatever your situation with glasses currently, there’s a way you can make sure you look amazing in them. Read on for some foolproof tips and advice!

 1.  Choose Glasses To Suit Your Face Shape
The first rule, that you’ve probably already heard before, is that you should choose glasses to suit your face shape. As a general rule, square glasses help to add dimension to round faces, whilst circle glasses can soften sharper faces. It’s all about balance when selecting your glasses!

That being said, you should wear any shape glasses you like. If you really like them, and you’re going to feel comfortable wearing them, that’s the important thing. Consider trying on glasses online if you’re planning on buying them from an online retailer. Many websites offer this option; all you have to do is upload a picture of your face straight on and you should get an idea of how the glasses look on you. If you’re still confused, ask somebody whose style you admire for help! 

2.  Do Your Makeup To Suit The Glasses
If you wear makeup, there are things you can do to ensure you show off your face and glasses in the best way possible. Glasses tend to magnify your eyes, so bear this in mind when you apply your eyeshadow. If you wear a lot of it, it could end up looking out of proportion with the rest of your face. However, if you have a colored pair of glasses, eyeshadow in a contrasting color could look really cool. You can wear mascara or lashes with them, just remember that if they are long your glasses may irritate them. You don’t want your super long lashes to rub against the lenses and end up unable to wear the frames! 

Alongside those makeup tips, remember that you may want to carry a little extra concealer/powder with you when wearing your glasses. This is because if you take them off for whatever reason, they will likely leave little marks on your nose. They’re not a big deal, but some people find them annoying!  If you really want people to notice your glasses and your eyes, you could even wear bright contact lenses. Just make sure you purchase them from a safe source and that you follow the instructions. You should never, ever sleep in them!

3. Take Your Outfit Into Account
Your outfit should complement your glasses. If you’re wearing a bright red pair of cat eye glasses, then you’re going to want to make sure your outfit is suitably sassy. If you love to stand out, some leopard print flares and a black t-shirt will give you sass-queen vibes. You could even wear an all black outfit to let your glasses do the talking.
