Creating a social media profile is easy, but making it look professional, sleek and organized is a whole other story. If you are a business owner or if you are an established professional then it is so important that you are able to put the work in because if you don’t then you may find that your online presence suffers as a result. Include Links The first thing that you need to do is include links. When you do this you will boost your professional credibility and you will also help yourself to appear much more active as well. LinkedIn makes this very easy to do and it also gives you the option to list your previous jobs as well. Every time you add a new job title you then have the chance to upload recognitions, photos, documents and even presentations as well. This is a fantastic way for you to make the most out of your profile and it is also a great way for you to appear impressive. Remember that your profile is your one chance to show how capable and accomplished you are, so don’t be afraid to really let yourself shine. Engage your Audience If you are not able to engage your audience then you won’t be going anywhere fast. You need to make sure that you interact with people on a day to day basis and you also have to make sure that you are standing out as well. if you are not quite sure how to do this then you can easily create a blog and link your posts. You can also post about topics that you feel as though are relevant to your industry as well. If you can, you should always do everything in your power to act as a hub for other professionals to connect with you on, and you can do this by linking some of your social media posts to others. This will help the audience that you have engaged on Linkedin to Facebook and beyond. And if engaging on all channels seems hard I have found Crowdfire and IFTT apps (available on the App Store) to be really helpful for allowing me to spread the news across social channels in one easy step. Use HD Images When you are choosing images for your blog posts you have to make sure that you are using ones that are high in quality. If you don’t have an image that is HD as your profile picture then you need to look into professional headshots. When you do this, you can easily set yourself apart from the other professionals on the site and you can also really put the work in to make your online profile into your own portfolio. Remember that your images say as much about your profile and your work as your content does. Have we missed anything?
