Have you worked long days and nights hoping to succeed in your career, only to find it leaves you feeling unfulfilled? No matter how hard you may work to succeed at your job, often it’s not enough. After years in the field, you may find that your current career no longer excites or motivates you. Although it may be hard to admit, it may be time to start looking for a new career. It can definitely be hard to know where to start. First, we say listen to the newest Not Wonder Woman Podcast Episode on How to Successfully Change Careers and then check out our top four list of new careers paths for you to consider taking now!
1. A Career That Allows You To Be Creative
While a creative career isn’t or everyone, it is perfect for those that have a little bit of creative flair. Whether you want to work as a graphic designer, an interior designer or someone who gets to write for a living - you’ll feel so much more at home in a role that allows you to use your talents. Get a camera, take on some photography gigs, see if that begins to excite you. Edit some podcasts or movies and see if your creative juices get flowing. I love to write so this blog has been a great creative outlet for me share my thoughts with each of you in a platform that happens to help me earn money - for me a win win!
2. Working In Digital Marketing And Social Media
The web is taking over - wait - has taken over and digital marketing is one of the biggest growth careers in 2019. With the rise of social media and blogging, there are more and more roles available in this space each and every day. If you think you’ve got what it takes to keep up with such a fast-paced industry, it’s definitely one to consider getting into. Plus this is not something where you have to get a degree to get good at it. There are tons of course on sites like Creative Live that can help you get into the digital marketing space for a very small investment (free and often less than $20 for awesome classes). Plus there is a lot of trial and error and you can use yourself as a test subject - start promoting your own social channels or small business. See what works and what doesn't. I have found trial and error in this space to be one of the greatest ways to learn in this still relatively nascent industry.
3. A Career That Allows You To Travel
If you’re looking for a career that gets you out of the office, why not consider moving into one that allows you to travel the world? Whether you get a role as a flight attendant, a pilot, a truck driver or tour guide - a job that gives you the opportunity to have incredible travel experiences can’t be bad, right? My dad has been a pilot for years and it afforded him and my family the ability to go all over the USA and we loved every minute of it. If you want to consider a career shift like this, the ramp up time is not that long for some of these jobs and the pay can be quite lucrative. For example, commercial pilot certifications start at 190 hours and commercial truckers require even less hours than that and you can visit CRST International reviews for more details. As long as you’re prepared for life on the road or in the air, you will love the fast-pace of the travel industry.
4. Starting As An Entrepreneur
If you’ve been working your way through jobs throughout your entire working life, you may feel as though it’s time for a big change. Personally, I think one of the best career changes you can make is to start working for yourself. You can build your own career, work the hours you want and enjoy each and every day as you navigate your way through being your own boss. I have loved starting Polished Professionals because it is something that I can grow and nurture on my own. It really gets to be my voice and I love the opportunity to share that.
