My favorite trend to wear this New Year's Eve (and throughout the holiday season) is velvet! It is happening from high end brands like Gucci and Dior yet available in some great affordable options that we have picked for you!
Velvet is a surprisingly easy trend to wear. I try to view velvet pants like blue jeans - they go with everything you already have in your closet. Other ideas? Wear a velvet skirt with a cozy sweater, wear a velvet dress with a blazer or add some brightly colored velvet accessories to add a pop to any look.
For my new year's eve outfit I am repeating an outfit you saw in my stories this week (remember my Boots and Bling party?) The velvet and sequin look is pictured again below. I am wearing blue velvet pants with a white tank top and a silver sequin jacket. The pants are so comfy I might actually enjoy my dinner (wink). I have them linked below for you so you can enjoy your new year's eve dinner too! I can see these being worn to Christmas Eve church services too with a blazer or can be turned into a work staple for the winter (I feel an upcoming blog post on velvet at work!).
Velvet dresses are also available at all price points in modern styles that can easily translate from day to night and will be perfect additions to your winter looks. Just add tights and a cape and you are winter ready!
If the whole velvet trend is a little scary and you don't want a big commitment, try some accessories like velvet shoes or a velvet bag. They will help you get on the velvet trend.
And if you say the velvet trend is not for you, don't forget our party looks we picked out earlier this month. We have all kinds of looks to have you new year's party perfect.
Below are my picks to get on the velvet train (and don't worry your man is not left off the list!). Use the arrows to scroll left and right. To a velvety new year!
