Skincare Secrets: 4 Failsafe Ways To Boost Your Complexion

Whether you’re in your 20’s or your 60’s, it’s essential to look after your skin. Your skin is your body’s protective barrier, and it has to deal with an awful lot of wear and tear. If you’re looking for ways to boost your complexion, soften your skin or tackle the signs of aging, you’ve come to the right place. Here are four failsafe solutions for bright, beautiful, youthful skin.

1) Hydration
Most of us know that drinking water keeps aches and pains at bay, but are you aware of the importance of keeping your skin hydrated? If you’re dehydrated, the skin is one of the first organs to be affected. We all want to enjoy soft, glowing skin, and staying hydrated is an excellent place to start on this quest. Aim for 2 liters of water per day, every day, and increase your intake if it’s a hot day or you’ve lost fluid through sweating during a workout. I have my favorite water bottle linked here - its with me at the office and in the car and keeps water cold for 24 hours!

2) Sun protection
Having a golden tan may make you look and feel phenomenal, but the sun’s UV rays can be incredibly damaging to your skin cells. If you’re on vacation, or it’s a warm and bright day, make sure you applylotion with an SPF of at least 30. Use a high factor if you have fair skin or your burn easily, and stay out of the midday sun if possible. If you do feel your skin burning, head into the shade and use aftersun lotion to soothe your skin and prevent pain. You know I am always a fan of a hat as well and I have linked my favorite fall hats here and here so you can add this to your fall wardrobe and get sun protection too!

3) Rejuvenating your skin
Aging is an inevitable process, but there are ways of turning back the clock. There is a dazzling array of lotions and potions available and you could also look into non-surgical facial services provided by a medical spa. I have been a fan of using lasers, botox and fillers over the years. These non-invasive treatments tend to produce only temporary results which create a smoother and more youthful aesthetic but will require maintenance. To try to get the most out of these treatments or if you want to get some powerful at home results try the serums and lotions linked below. They include ingredients like retinol and hyaluronic acid which are proven anti-gaining ingredients. I have really valued these anti-aging products to keep my skin looking as young as possible.

4) Improving your skincare regime
When you’re young, and your skin is clear and radiant, you may not think you need an intensive skincare regime, but it’s never too early to start looking after your skin. Whatever age you are, it’s worth taking steps to protect and nourish your skin, and target issues, such as breakouts, irritation, redness, pigmentation or age spots. I suffer from all of these (ugh) and I have really invested in getting great advice from my dermatologist  for at home skincare to address these needs.  I linked below my acne, age spot and color correctors below to help nip these skin problems in the bud! As a general take the time to cleanse your face before you go to bed. After cleansing, apply a toner and then moisturizer or serum. Each of our favorite night time routine beauty products are linked below!

Do you wish your skin looked healthier or younger? If you’re on a mission to brighten up your complexion or turn back time, it’s beneficial to take good care of your skin. Hopefully, this guide will set you on the right path, and you’ll notice a positive difference in no time. If you have any must have products make sure to tell us in the comments!
