Confidence is a trait that we all aspire to have but can often feel just out of our reach. Fortunately, there are many steps you can take to close that gap so that you are able to embrace your true confidence. With that in mind, here are some easy (yet proven) ways to build your confidence! Find your community. Surrounding yourself with likeminded individuals, who care about your growth and development can work wonders for your confidence. This is because you’ll have a shoulder to cry on when struggling, or place to turn to should you need advice and guidance. There are many different ways in which you can find your community, for exmaple, you could join a men's group.
Take care of yourself. Taking good care of yourself can also help to improve your confidence. This is because in taking action to ensure your needs are addressed, you’ll begin to feel happier in your day to day life. For example, it could mean that in making an effort to appear more presentable each day, you begin to feel more positive about how you look. Similarly, these actions could help you to deal with confidence-killers such as a negative body image! Fake it til you make it. While this may seem somewhat fantastical, sometimes “pretending” to feel confident can actually make you more confident in the long run. This is because, to some degree, we’re all pretending. For example, even the msot competent and skilled businessmen will feel a little nervous before an important meeting or speech, they’re just better at hiding it. There are many waysin which you can “fake” confidence, starting by changing your posture and body language. Embrace your flaws. Often, our “flaws” are the reasons why we may not feel completely confident. However, changing the way you think about these parts of yourself can be truly transformational. For example, if you are unhappy with how your body looks, try to reframe the way you think of it. Your body is strong and powerful - it has been through so much, and helps you get where you need to be each day. Rerouting negative thoughts and turning them into something more positive can mean that you’ll find it easier to embrace your flaws, or that you stop viewing them as flaws at all. Start taking more risks. Taking risks can also be a great way to boost your confidence, even if they do not always pay of in the way you’d expect. For example, being brave enough to change careers shows you that you can do anything you set your mind too, and that its never too late to pursue your dreams. This, in turn, can elevate your confidence levels to new height. When risks don’t pay off, you’ll learn that its not the end of the world to make a mistake. In fact, they can be a valuable learning opportunity that shape the next steps you take in life. In short, they do not signify the end of your journey, they just put you on an alternative route.
